In order to promote SOMO's commissioned research, training and consultancy services, I have developed a temporary website in Wordpress aimed at acquiring new customers and new projects from existing customers. The website http://services.somo.nl will be externally launched on 16 March 2015.
With almost 40% of our audience reading newsletters on mobile devices, it was about time to make our newsletters mobile friendly. I have developed responsive mailing templates for SOMOs internal and external newsletter, and I am currently working on new Mailchimp templates for GoodElectronics and other networks of NGOs we are participating in.
To streamline our fundraising and acquisition efforts, we were in need of an online sales pipeline and CRM tool that is easy to use and manage. Together with the fundraising manager, I have drawn a list of requirements, researched possible tools and finally selected Pipedrive as our new fundraising & acquisition platform. Next, I have configured the tool and converted all existing data into the new format. After that, I have trained colleagues in working with Pipedrive.
For a pilot with crowdfunding, I have set up a Wordpress website using the Ignition Deck crowdfunding platform and plugins to support the most popular payment methods. The aim of this website is to raise funds within SOMO’s community for research that would otherwise be too costly to finance by only one organisation. From May - August 2014 I managed the first pilot project, raising funds for research into a tax evading mining company. Although we did not reach our target, we learnt a great deal from this campaign.
This new website is aimed at NGOs, explaining how to use complaint mechanisms in case of human rights violations by companies. The responsive website was built by NFG (Paul Stevens) using the Plone CMS and Diazo theming engine. I have developed the concept in conjunction with the team, managed the project and trained editors in using the CMS.
The 'MVO Kieswijzer' is a Dutch website targeted at the Dutch national elections of 2012. It provides an overview of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) related issues in Dutch national politics. As project manager, I have made sure that the website got launched in time and within budget. The site was built by Paul Stevens using the Plone CMS, Diazo theming engine and Dexterity content-types.
Dedicated website for storytelling, blogging and other long reads. The template and set-up allows for fully customised lay-outs for each individual story, comparable to Creativist (but much easier to work with).
In order to monitor and measure the impact of our online campaigns, I have set up a dashboard in Geckoboard with a number of relevant parameters. After the first campaign it will be evaluated and further refined.
Together with two other people I have set up an urban farming project in our neighbourhood. 50 neighbours now have a place to grow their own (organic) vegetables.
For the owners association of the appartment building I live in, I developed a new Wordpress website / intranet, in cooperation with a number of my neighbours. Amongst others, it contains a ticketing system, forum and archive (http://www.vvedewatertoren.nl).
For this small-scale Dutch NGO helping orphans and widows in India and Nepal, I set up a new Wordpress website, which I am maintaining ever since.
I have been chief editor of the news letter and online content of this small-scale NGO.
